Gabriel Joseph Love

From a young age, they were immersed in the world of dance, training at the prestigious Royal Ballet School from 2006 to 2008 at the Covent Garden campus. During this time, they refined their classical technique and developed a passion for storytelling through movement. They had the incredible opportunity to perform as an extra in some of the most iconic productions, including Wicked the Musical, Matthew Bourne's Swan Lake, Billy Elliot the Musical, and Romeo and Juliet. These experiences shaped their artistic vision and honed their understanding of both ballet and contemporary performance.

In 2009, their journey took a turn towards contemporary dance as they trained under the direction of Edward Lynch at the Northern School of Contemporary Dance. Over the course of two years, from 2009 to 2011, they delved deeper into contemporary movement, pushing their boundaries and evolving as a performer. A highlight of this period was performing in an original piece choreographed by Edward Lynch titled Bodmas, which remains a significant achievement in their dance career.

Unfortunately, a severe spinal dislocation marked a pivotal shift in their life and career. Unable to continue dancing professionally, they transitioned their focus towards the creative processes behind the scenes. They began working on set design and backstage production, combining their artistic sensibility with a newfound technical expertise. This led to their involvement in festival production, where they discovered a passion for creating immersive environments and experiences for large audiences.

In 2018, they began their journey into festival production with the Not A Cult festival. This was followed by contributions to the Envirolution festival in 2020, Audio Farm Festival in 2021, Green Gathering festival in 2022, and the renowned Boomtown festival in 2023. Most recently, in 2024, they played a key role in the production of the Home of the Drum festival.

Their journey has been one of evolution—shaped by the rigors of classical and contemporary dance, molded by the challenges of injury, and redefined by the world of festival and event production. Through it all, their passion for the arts remains the core of their work, whether on stage, behind the scenes, or creating magical festival experiences.
